Our staff are here to help. They are all experienced and well qualified in their areas of speciality.

Services

We provide General Practice Services including Men and Women Health Checks, Childhood Immunisations, Travel Immunisations, Dive Medicals, Immigration Medicals, Minor Removals and Vasectomies to name a few. We also have a recall system to remind you when your next treatment is due.

Facilities

Access to Westview Medical Centre is easy, with arrangements for patients with reduced mobility or wheelchair requirements, Should you need assistance, please ask our staff, they will be happy to assist.

We have two reception areas with seating, nine consulting rooms, seven treatment rooms and two waiting rooms.

There are wheelchair friendly toilets and other toilets on the ground floor behind the lift and on the first floor for female patients behind the reception area. Please ask our receptionist if you need assistance.

Meeting your Needs

  • Cultural – We will always try to provide treatment services that meet your cultural needs. Please tell your Doctor if there are any aspects of your cultural needs that you wish us to know about that may affect your treatment.
  • Disabilities – When making your first appointment, or if your abilities change, please tell us if you have any disability issues that you wish us to take into account.
  • Social – If there are any special social aspects that you would like us to be aware of, e.g. inability to afford treatments, please advise our reception staff or your Doctor.
  • Age – We need to be advised when clients are under 16 years of age. Parental consent and supervision may be required under that age. Older people may wish to advise us if there are any special requirements related to their age.
  • Language – Do you understand English? Our practice uses English as a first language. If you or someone you are here with needs and interpreter, please ask our staff who can help you.
  • Support Person or Chaperone – If you want to bring a family member, whanau, friend, or caregiver to your treatment for support and/or translation purposes please let our staff know so appropriate arrangements can be made.

Recognising your Rights

A copy of the Health and Disability Commissioners Code of Rights is displayed on the wall in our reception area. We also have brochures available should you wish to know more about your rights.

If you are unhappy about any aspect of our service, there is a complaints process that you can use to bring any problems to our attention – please ask our staff for a copy if you need one.

There is also a suggestion box available if you want to bring any other matters to our attention.

Medical Emergency
Our staff are trained to respond to medical emergencies and have all received training in CPR and First Aid.

Other Information
We have information booklets and pamphlets about our services and, many others provided by Waiora Healthcare Primary Health Organisation and other Healthcare Organisations. Please help yourself to any of these that are of interest.
