About Us

Kelston Medical is a friendly place where patients feel at home. At Kelston we offer medical care which is personal and of high quality, irrespective of race, age, sex or religion.

Our belief is that optimum health can be achieved and maintained using a collaborative approach between the patient and health professional. This can be achieved by being well informed on your health, health conditions and medications, along with relevant lifestyle coaching and support. This enables you to manage your own health alongside the support of your Doctor and Nurse.

The Kelston medical staff are professional and highly experienced with a passion for general practice. The doctors and nurses are up with modern medical advancements and constantly up-skill their knowledge base.

Our record keeping systems are fully computerised with automated recall alerts. This means we can keep you up to date with any treatments procedures you may require, such as smears, mamograms, immunisations and prostrate checks.

It is our policy to be as flexible as possible and as staffing levels permit. We accommodate accidents and emergencies. Our facilities include disabled parking and access, onsite pharmacy, lab and physiotherapists.

We accept all major credit cards (except American Express), eftpos, cash and cheques. Some patients also find it convenient to budget for medical expenses by setting up an automatic payment. The receptionists have automatic payment forms for you to fill in.

Medical and Nursing Services offered

Kelston Medical Centre offers a range of primary health care services including:

  • Standard medical and nursing consultations for any health concerns
  • Free smears with the nurse for enrolled patients
  • Breast exam and mammogram referral with the nurse
  • Pregnancy tests and maternity care
  • Contraceptive advice, sexually transmitted disease screening and treatment
  • 6-week new baby check
  • Immunisations and Well Child checks
  • Minor surgical procedures
  • All nurses and GPs are ACC registered
  • Diabetes checks and education
  • Chronic disease education and ongoing management
  • Insurance medical assessments
  • Immigration medical assessments
  • Travel medical checkups and all travel immunizations
  • Liquid nitrogen for removal of warts and some skin lesions
  • Home visits from GP where a patient is too sick to attend the surgery
  • Nursing Outreach service - Immunisation and nurse home visits as necessary e.g. dressings, after hospital discharge etc.
  • Terminal/palliative care - provided as necessary; may include home visits for those too unwell to attend the medical centre and a 24-hr on-call service in the late phase of treatment.
